reSEARCH@Heart

This interactive research portal provides access to the current data we have on investigators, institutions, awards, and resulting publications funded since 2008 by our organization.

Scenarios for portal usage

  • Look up a scientist to see if they have been funded by the AHA since 2008. If funded, review their topic expertise information.

  • Enter a scientific topic (e.g., Kawasaki Disease, Valve Repair) to find examples of funded research then review the related publications to learn about the research outcomes or to see collaborating researchers.

  • Enter a project summary to determine if AHA has funded similar research and locate AHA researchers that have similar expertise.

  • Locate institutions in a specific geographic location that have active AHA awards.

Be careful in these areas

  • Reporting. This is not to be considered a reporting tool. We are limited to the data we have in our system or the publication data provided by our vendor, and therefore it may not be complete. As an example, all publications may not be indexed by the vendor and we only update these periodically.

  • Topic Searches. Since there are a variety of terms that could describe a scientific topic, the portal is best used to look for EXAMPLES of the funding we have done vs. presenting the information as total funding for a particular topic.

  • Publications related to our research. There is no perfect way to identify research that results from a project. This system uses an algorithm to link publications to projects based on topic match and timeframe of the award.

Activities that would be better addressed in a different way

  • Literature search on a scientific topic. This portal only shows publication information that is related to AHA-funded research since 2008.

  • Summary information about research that has been funded by the AHA. Data in the portal is limited and cannot be used to summarize AHA-funded research.
