The Scientific Sessions 2015 Invited Program Submitter is now open to receive your program ideas!
Submission Dates: December 1, 2014 through January 2, 2015
Thank you for making Scientific Sessions 2014 an amazing success. You were promised Big Science, Big Networking, Big Technology, and Just Plain Cool interaction in Chicago, and we delivered! We always ask that you expect big things from your AHA scientific events.
An important component of those "big things" will be Frank Sellke, MD, FAHA, who we would like to introduce to you as the new Chair of the Committee of Scientific Sessions Program. He is taking over the reins after the committed and steady stewardship of Robert Harrington, MD.
We are confident that Dr. Sellke will continue the tradition of groundbreaking insights, lectures from prestigious speakers and thought-provoking discussions about basic, translational, clinical and population science at Sessions.
Here's a look back at some of the ground-breaking developments from Chicago:
BIG SCIENCE: Late-Breaking Clinical Trials reveal top-notch research
Topics covered the risks and benefits of dual antiplatelet therapy, anti-lipid therapy and prevention of coronary artery disease, treatment of structural heart disease, and drugs, devices and systems of care for ischemic heart disease. Read more for a recap (link opens in new window).
BIG NETWORKING: Maximizing the Early Career experience
In its second year, we expanded The Early Career Lounge, setting the stage for more networking opportunities.
BIG TECHNOLOGY: Health Tech competition showcases startup medical devices
Building off of the momentum from a successful Health Tech Forum in September, Scientific Sessions introduced a technology track to the conference. See who won the close race (link opens in new window).
JUST PLAIN COOL: Sessions attendees step it up in second annual Walking Challenge
Participating attendees trekked nearly 10.5 million steps while in the Windy City. That's equal to 5,240 miles of walking ... more than the distance of walking from Chicago to Honolulu, Hawaii! We have the individual and council winners (link opens in new window).
