  • Lifetime risk for developing CVD at age 40 is two in three for men and one in two for women.
  • On average, more than 2,200 Americans die of CVD each day, an average of one death every 39 seconds. CVD claims more lives each year than cancer, chronic lower respiratory disease and accidents combined.
  • About every 34 seconds, an American will have a heart attack.  Every 40 seconds someone has a stroke.
