Background

Throughout 2011-2012, the AHA conducted an extensive discussion amongst all AHA stakeholders to determine key attributes and guiding principles as the AHA strengthens and enhances its commitment to CV and neurosciences research and drives toward its Mission. As a result of this Summit, the AHA started funding the Strategically Focused Research Networks with the intent to explore all aspects of basic, clinical, and population science and a charge to accelerate progress towards the AHA's mission and 2020 goals.
