Cardiovascular Nursing Clinical Symposium

The Cardiovascular Nursing Clinical Symposium (CVN) is a one-day forum designed to provide cutting-edge clinical information for staff nurses and Advanced Practice nurses who care for patients with cardiovascular disease and stroke. The symposium will share proven best clinical practices in the care of this patient population.

The keynote address on the Global Burden of Heart Disease will kick off the day. There will be two panel discussions: 1) Management of Heart Disease in Underserved Populations and 2) 2017 AHA/ACC Update to Practice Standards for ECG Monitoring. The recently updated stroke guidelines and heart failure guidelines will also be presented. Other topics include ECG confounders to diagnosis of acute myocardial infarction, off label use for DOACs, and the future of healthcare using virtual reality education. The purpose of the program is to share new information and provide the most current evidence-based practices to promote optimal patient outcomes.
