Mission Statement

The mission of the American Heart Association's Council on Hypertension is "to foster excellence in high blood pressure research and education and achieve the association's objectives in the field of hypertension."  Members support the association's mission of building healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke.

The mission of the Council on Hypertension is "to foster excellence in hypertension research and education" in order to achieve the American Heart Association’s goal “to build healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke".

The Council on Hypertension proudly sponsors numerous award programs which honor outstanding researchers, early career investigators or medical students

  
Fellowship
Fellowship provides a means to recognize council members for outstanding contributions to the field and service to the American Heart Association (AHA)

 

Hypertension
Hypertension is one of 11 AHA journals. It represents the Councils on HBPR and KCVD, in cooperation with the Inter-American Society of Hypertension


   
Council Committees
The Council on Hypertension is comprised of professionals who serve as experts on issues related to high blood pressure and research in cardiovascular disease.
Trainee Advocacy Committee
The Council on Hypertension fosters the development of early career professionals, including research scientists and clinicians.
