To take a active role to advocate minority issues related to the Council’s involvement in the scientific and lay communities through professional education and development, identification and recruitment of minorities, mentoring programs and outreach programs. Promote career development.

The committee is dedicated to the support of minority faculty and those interested in minority research (research on ethnic groups traditionally underrepresented in medicine) as well as focused on defining and eliminating health disparities.

The committee is meant to include those at any point along the spectrum of training and to provide resources for those at each phase in training.
