The Get With The Guidelines® (GWTG) – Stroke, Heart Failure and Resuscitation databases
Get With The Guidelines (GWTG) is the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association's premier hospital-based quality improvement program. It empowers healthcare provider teams to consistently treat heart failure, stroke, and cardiopulmonary arrest patients according to the most up-to-date guidelines. This program provides hospitals with a systematic approach to measure and improve quality and facilitate evidence based patient care upon hospital admission and at discharge. Specifically, this program enhances appropriate acute care therapies, medication therapy at discharge, and risk modification counseling. Over 1,900 US hospitals participate in one or more of the GWTG Program modules, and more than 5 million patient records have been entered into the Patient Management Tool (powered by Outcome Science.)
