The AHA/ASA Professional Membership offers five levels, each of which receive the basic benefits of membership, plus the corresponding benefits package:

  • Emeritus Criteria – What you need from the AHA may evolve, but you can count on the AHA Professional Membership to keep you connected to your profession, while taking advantage of exclusive products and services.

    Beginning July 2010, Emeritus membership is reserved for individuals who have been American Heart Association Professional Members five or more years (at least five of which were successive), have reached the age of 67 and have fully retired.

    New Emeritus Criteria:
    • Active Premium Professional Member for the past five years without interruption
    • Attained the age of 67 years old at the time the request is submitted
    • Retired at the time the request is submitted
  • Though the new criteria will become effective July 1, we will honor the current criteria through Sept. 30. If you meet these requirements and would like to request a change in your membership status, send a written request to professional.membership@heart.org.
